Sealing / Water protection

Ceramic floors in breweries, dairies and commercial kitchens etc. are subject to both the load of water and chemicals, mainly through fats, acids, salts, alkali, and/or solvents. In order to secure functional reliabilty of a ceramic floor in these areas, the surface must be waterproof, thermally loadable and resistant to the substances acting on the floor.
Subfloors must be clean, dry, stable, secure, and free of cracks and of adhesion-reducing components. An adequate slope must be considered for floor drains and gutters. Additional measures are necessary when water endangering substances in terms of §19 WHG (Water Management Act) act upon the floor.
